Joris Van Der Gucht, co-CEO and founder of Silverfin told us about their experience winning an accounting excellence award this year.
How does it feel to win Software Innovation of the Year?
Great. It is always very gratifying to get recognition for your team’s hard work from peers and leaders in the profession like this.
How will winning the 2019 Accounting Excellence Award for Software Innovation of the Year impact your firm?
We hope that winning will draw attention to our cloud platform from new firms we’ve yet to speak with and encourage them to make contact to learn how we can help them transform their business through technology.
What advice would you give to anyone entering the awards, or thinking of entering the awards next year?
Firstly enter – you have to be in it to win it! Secondly think carefully about the impact your technology has on the day-to-day business of accounting. Showcase how you make the life of accountants easier, better and more effective. At the end of the day this is what matters – does what you created change for the better your customers’ lives.
What does accounting excellence mean to you? A focus on continuous improvement and innovation. Challenging yourself to deliver the best service in the market to your customers. Learning from others and finding ways to apply their best practice to your own business.
