Ria-Jaine Lincoln shares her experience of the difficulties of the past year and what her Hero award means to her.

How does it feel to win the Hero: Individual award?

I am still in shock and overwhelmed as in the middle of it all [covid] I didn’t think, I just reacted and pivoted with all the changes that were coming at us thick and fast. It really is an amazing feeling to win such an amazing category. I am very proud of this award.

How will winning the 2020 Accounting Excellence Award for Hero: Individual impact your firm after a difficult year like this one?

I do think this will give the firm a boost both internally as I feel more motivated than ever and externally as I hope this will demonstrate to existing and future clients my commitment. I pride myself on going the extra mile and this award really is a great testament to that.

What advice would you give to anyone entering the awards, or thinking of entering the awards next year?

Absolutely go for it. I have always been a big advocate of awards it is a great feeling personally to receive recognition but most importantly in business it is great for brand awareness, credibility, and instilling confidence in your services when winning or being shortlisted for an award.

What does accounting excellence mean to you?

Accounting excellence for me is about always going above and beyond with professional development and client service. It is about keeping up to date with technical and technological advances and ensuring both your own business and the businesses that you represent succeed.
