Jaye Snell, Owner of Exe Bookkeeping and Payroll Services tells us how winning the inaugural Bookkeeping Firm of the Year category has helped her.
How does it feel to win Bookkeeping Firm of the Year?
I am ecstatic about winning this award as it signifies all the hard work and commitment I’ve put into building my practice. It really validates everything and I am just so proud of this achievement – even more so with it being a new category – I can always say I was the first! I can’t quite believe it!
How will winning the 2020 Accounting Excellence Award for Bookkeeping Firm of the Year impact your firm after a difficult year like this one?
Winning the award has really provided a much needed reaffirmation of what I am doing and given me a renewed drive. It has been an immensely tough year and although there are times when I have felt so overwhelmed with all the changes, It’s helped me remember why I love what I do.
What advice would you give to anyone entering the awards, or thinking of entering the awards next year?
Just do it! I think we really struggle to ‘blow our own trumpets’ but writing an awards nomination really helps you reflect on what you have achieved in the past twelve months. I always feel it fires me up to push forward with developing the practice and thinking about what comes next and how I get there.
What does accounting excellence mean to you?
Accounting excellence is the cream of the crop of the profession; a renowned awards ceremony in the industry and being amongst those that I’ve read and heard about still hasn’t quite sunk in!
